Saarbrücken / Homburg / Germersheim / Kaiserslautern / Pirmasens (ots) - The main customs office in Saarbrücken, its customs offices and the contact points for vehicle tax remain open to companies and citizens albeit with restrictions due to the Corona crisis.
"It is important that we maintain the clearance of goods, but do not endanger our health," said Hans Barth, head of the main customs office in Saarbrücken. “That's why we have to reduce personal contacts as much as possible.”
Companies, recipients of mail and visitors to the contact points for vehicle tax should first contact the customs offices by phone or e-mail. The further procedure can then be individually coordinated.
"If it is necessary to contact us personally, I ask for your understanding that there may be restrictions," added Mr. Barth.
This means that customs offices can only be entered temporarily temporarily. In addition, the Saarlouis customs service point, which is a branch of the Saarbrücken customs office, will be closed until further notice for personnel reasons.
Important and up-to-date information on tax relief (e.g. deferral) or existing clearance options are available at www.zoll.de, but can also be requested from our customs offices at any time.
