Mehlingen (ots) - Unknown perpetrators broke into an apartment on Dreihübelstrasse on Wednesday. They ransacked two rooms and stole several pieces of jewelry worth around 600 euros.

When the 61-year-old apartment owner came home shortly after 16 p.m., he met two unknown women on entering the apartment building. They got into an older Opel and drove away. Then the man noticed that his apartment door had been broken into and alerted the police.

He suspected that the strangers might be considered for the break-in. A manhunt for the vehicle and the two women turned out negative.

The injured party described the suspects as follows:

Southeast European phenotype, remarkably slender, about 1,70 meters tall, brown, shoulder-length hair.

The car was a silver-gray Opel, an older notchback sedan.

Witnesses who have observed something suspicious or who can provide information about the suspect or the car are asked to contact the Kaiserslautern criminal police on 0631 369-2620. | mhm
