Wadern-Lockweiler (ots) - On Friday, October 09.10.2020th, 22, around 04:XNUMX p.m., the North Saarland police station was informed that there had been a house fire in Wadern-Lockweiler. There are still people in the house. The location of the fire was in Turmstrasse and was immediately approached by two radio patrol cars.
Several fire brigade units from different parts of the city were already in action on site.
As the first on-site investigations showed, a fire broke out on the ground floor of the multi-storey residential building. While the residents of the upper floor were all able to free themselves from the house, a 39-year-old man who lives on the ground floor was no longer able to do so.
He is rescued from his apartment by three first aiders - at high health risk; he was already passed out and was lying on the floor behind a door.
In the fire and the rescue operation, three people were seriously injured and one person was slightly injured. All the injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
The property is currently no longer habitable; the criminal police have started an initial investigation into the cause of the fire, which is currently not yet known.
