West Palatinate (ots) - After a high number of violations of the mask requirement was found in the so-called "Corona controls" last weekend, the police in the West Palatinate are continuing the controls this weekend.
In close coordination with the local regulatory authorities, the emergency services of all police headquarters will be on the move in their respective areas of responsibility. The officers will pay particular attention to whether people in the West Palatinate adhere to wearing a face-to-face mask in the prescribed areas (for example in shops and in local public transport) as well as adhering to the minimum distance and contact restrictions. The closure of restaurants is also being checked. - All of this with the aim of containing the spread of the corona pandemic, reducing new infections and breaking chains of infection.
"We want to be the point of contact for citizens even in this difficult situation," said Police Director Ralf Klein. This applies both to the emergency services who are out and about and who can be approached “on site” for information and questions at any time, but of course it also applies to the reporting of complaints or the reporting of potentially criminal behavior. This can also be done contactlessly by calling "his" nearest police station or using the Rhineland-Palatinate police station's online station - to be found on the Internet at: https://www.polizei.rlp.de/de/onlinewache/
In emergencies that require the police to be deployed immediately, the following applies of course: Dial 110! The police are definitely there for you 24/7 - around the clock! | cri
