Völklingen (ots) - During the night from Friday to Saturday, the Völklingen police station carried out several traffic controls within its service district. Several violations were found. A 31-year-old road user from Püttlingen behaved increasingly conspicuously during his traffic control in Püttlingen, so that the officers deployed got the impression that the man was under the influence of narcotics. This suspicion was confirmed at the office after a positive drug pretest. After taking a blood sample, the man was released. A major administrative offense procedure awaits him, as well as a procedure for violating the Narcotics Act. Furthermore, a 49-year-old road user from Völklingen was checked in the inner city area after he drove conspicuously serpentine lines with his vehicle. He was under the influence of alcohol and was no longer fit to drive. A blood sample was also taken from him. The police also kept his driver's license. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the man for drunk driving.
