Alzey (ots) - The “Roadpol Safety Days” are a Europe-wide campaign to reduce fatal traffic accidents. Targeted traffic controls aim to prevent the 70 fatal traffic accidents across Europe every day as far as possible.
In the area of the Alzey police station, a total of 50 vehicles were checked today with regard to speed, distraction in traffic and occupant safety.
The officers found 8 speed violations, 12 unsecured vehicle occupants and a driver calling. In all cases, warnings or fines were due. The front runner in terms of speed violations was a car driver who was traveling at 70 km / h at a permitted 95 km / h.
The group of young drivers or that of the seniors were not noticeable today.
