The US Federal Reserve (Fed) leaves the key rate unchanged.

The central bank announced on Wednesday afternoon (local time) that it was still in a range between 0,0 and 0,25 percent. It will probably stay a while until “maximum employment” is reached and inflation is at least two percent.

The economy and employment have increased somewhat in the last few months, but remained well below the level at the beginning of the year, according to the Fed announcement. The further development will depend largely on the course of the corona crisis. There are considerable risks to the economic outlook.
