US stock exchanges on the rise with vaccine news

The US stock markets rose significantly on Monday.

At the end of trading in New York, the Dow was calculated at 29.950,44 points, an increase of 1,60 percent compared to the previous trading day. A few minutes earlier, the broader S&P 500 was up around 3.627 points (+1,16 percent).

The good news that two US companies, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna, made progress in vaccine development on Monday, created a good mood among investors. Only the technology exchange Nasdaq calculated the Nasdaq 100 with around 12.013 points (+0,63 percent) not quite as strongly. The European common currency trended a little stronger on Monday evening. One euro cost 1,1850 US dollars (+0,10 percent).

The gold price fell slightly, in the evening 1.887,24 US dollars were paid for one troy ounce (-0,17 percent). That corresponds to a price of 51,20 euros per gram.
