With their veto, Hungary and Poland are blocking EU financial planning and thus the € 750 billion Corona aid package.

This became known on Monday in Brussels circles. The reason is anger about the rule of law procedures that the EU Commission operates, it said.

Among other things, Brussels had initiated infringement proceedings against Warsaw because the Polish government's judicial reform made it easier to discipline judges. In the morning, a spokesman for the Hungarian government threatened to overturn EU budget planning if the other EU countries did not change their stance. In July, after four days and nights, the heads of government of the 27 EU member states agreed on the € 750 billion aid package for the EU.
