Stranger rings the doorbell and strikes suddenly

Wadgassen-Differten (ots) - Without any apparent reason, a stranger hit two men in Differten in the face on Whit Monday; a third victim was able to avoid the attack.

The first incident occurred at 16:30 p.m. in Gangolfstrasse. There, a 69-year-old man opened his front door after the doorbell rang. The perpetrator immediately punched him in the face and then ran away on foot.

Around 19:30 p.m. the stranger then went through an unlocked gate into the garden of a house in Wiesenstrasse. Here he gave the surprised resident a slap in the face. Fortunately, the 78-year-old victim was not injured. Once again the perpetrator fled from the crime scene on foot.

A short time later the doorbell rang at an estate on Mittelwiesenstrasse. When the 70-year-old resident opened, the perpetrator asked him for his family name. The victim answered the question, whereupon the perpetrator made a strike. However, the 70-year-old was able to avoid the attack. This time the stranger ran away towards Altforweilerstrasse.

In all cases, the male attacker was described as follows:

- about 18 - 25 years old
- about 170 - 180 cm big
- Dressed in dark, possibly with a tracksuit or leather jacket
- sometimes wore a baseball cap, sometimes a hood
- Wore a medical face mask (no fabric mask) This personal description also applies to an unknown person who knocked over and damaged the transfer machine in the Sparkasse branch in Werbelner Strasse in Differten on the night of Whit Monday to Tuesday.

Witnesses to one of the incidents and other victims are asked to report to the Saarlouis Police Inspectorate (tel: 06831/9010).
