In the Saarland league top game against SV Auersmacher our U21 did not have a good day. On Sunday our second from coach Marco Emich lost 0-2 (0-2) in the home game at the Kohlwaldstadion. Due to the defeat, our U21 initially slipped into second place behind Köllerbach (one point behind), but still played one less game.

A48H0189Coach Emich was honest after the home defeat: “Our team just didn't have a good day and didn't play well. Auersmacher, on the other hand, made it very clever, made life difficult for us again and again, defended well and played forward quickly. ”That put our young team under pressure early on. The SVA was able to take the lead in the 7th minute when Sascha Schumacher left Joshua Blankenburg in the SVE goal with his sharp end from the left and scored 1-0 for the guests. As the game progressed, a game developed that often played in midfield and was relatively poor in chances to score - but the better ones had the Auersmacher guests. Once Blankenburg was able to prevent another goal with a good parade, a little later SVA player Melvin Heid, who ran alone on goal, put the ball next to the box. On the side of our U21, Marco Kofler delivered two finishes with a header and Kai Merk with one shot from the edge of the box, but unfortunately the attempts did not pose a great danger. And so it happened as it had to come: With the break whistle, Auersmacher made a quick move to the next goal. After a long ball over half the field, the opponent left our defense on the left, the ball landed again centrally at Schumacher, who only had to insert to mark his second goal to make it 2-0 (45th). The referee did not whistle the game afterwards and sent the teams straight into the break.

After the restart, it was clear to our U21 that they wanted to take over the game with all their might. Our team had a lot more possession, temporarily got stuck in the Auersmacher half and tried everything to get there somehow. But last passes and crosses did not arrive - Auersmacher defended very well, our team lacked the power on that day. Shortly before the end, substitute Jackson Courtney, who failed alone to SVA goalkeeper Florian Schworm, had the best SVE chance of the connection goal. But apart from that, the guests did not burn anything and set pinpricks themselves with good counters. "You certainly can't deny our boys the will or commitment," said Marco Emich: "Our performance on Sunday was simply not good enough, Auersmacher was better."

However, the view is already looking forward: “It was clear that we would lose a game again at some point. The defeat was not a broken leg now, ”said Marco Emich:“ It will continue next weekend. ”With an away game. Next Sunday, April 07th, our second will start at FV Schwalbach, the game starts at 15.30:XNUMX p.m.
