Our U19 and U17 continue to swim on the wave of success: At the weekend, the A-Juniors celebrated their fourth win in the fourth game of the season by beating TuS Koblenz 2-1, and the B-Juniors also achieved the same with a 3-0 victory in Schifferstadt . There was also reason to celebrate for our U15s this weekend due to the 2-0 win in Trier.
For our A-Juniors, the run of success in the Regionalliga Südwest continues. On Saturday, coach Daniel Demmerle's U19 celebrated a 2-1 win in their home game against TuS Koblenz and thus their fourth win in their fourth game of the season. The opponents didn't exactly make it easy for our team. TuS played really well, especially in the first half. After 20 minutes, our team was lucky when the guests came free after a corner kick, but sent the ball over the goal. After that, an open game developed, with Koblenz having the better chances - our U19 still managed the goal. Grischa Walzer brought a corner kick centrally in front of the goal, from five meters away Philipp Lauer headed free-standing to make it 1-0 (40th). Shortly before the break, Koblenz had another good opportunity, had already played our goalkeeper in a direct duel, but put the ball too far. So it was during the break with the somewhat flattering SVE leadership. After changing sides, our U19 went up a gear and had the game better under control. The result: the 2-0 in the 54th minute. After a nice attack on the right, Alessandro Marino crossed in the middle, the Koblenz goalkeeper could only let the ball go off and Maurice Schnell sent the rebound into the goal to make it 2-0. As a result, there were two great chances for our A-Juniors to put the lid on. First, after a nice teamwork with Maurice Schnell, Marino shot the opponent on the line, a little later he lifted the ball over the goal. And that made it even more exciting in the end: In the 67th minute, Yusupha Sawaneh pushed the ball over the line after a corner kick from close range to make it 1: 2. In the final minutes there was no more big chance in Koblenz, but the game remained exciting until the end thanks to a few free kicks and high balls in the 16s. "All in all, it was an open game that eventually turned down in our direction," said coach Daniel Demmerle.
In the league, our U19s are now taking a short break - because on the weekend the boys will continue with the season highlight in the DFB Cup! On Sunday, October 04th, our U19s will welcome the Bundesliga youth from RB Leipzig in Elversberg! The game, which starts at 12.00 noon, will be played in the URSAPHARM-Arena on the Kaiserlinde.
Our B-Juniors were also able to celebrate their fourth win in the fourth game of the season in the Regionalliga Südwest at the weekend and thus continue their streak of success. Coach Kai Decker's U17 won the away game at Phönix Schifferstadt 3-0 on Sunday. Our boys had to fight their way into the game first. Against the still pointless hosts, our U17s determined the game and also developed some good chances, but initially they did not find their way into the opposing goal. After a goalless first half, a standard had to be used to initiate the victory after the break. In the 55th minute, Nino Keuper gave our team a 1-0 lead with a free-kick, and shortly before the end of the game, our team eliminated the last doubts about the away win with a double. After a corner from Keuper, Nico Zimmer was first on the spot and increased to 2-0 (76th), almost immediately after the restart, Lennart Poth and Keuper showed a nice combination through the opposing half; Poth finally completed the attack with the goal of the 3-0 final score (77th). "Since we didn't manage to use one of our chances from the game, we had to use a set-piece as a can opener," said coach Decker: "After a difficult start, it was a deserved victory in the end."
For our B-Juniors, the next Sunday, October 04th, will continue with the second away game in a row. At 13.00 p.m. our team will be at the SG Andernach.
Our C-Juniors had their first three-pointer of the season on Saturday in the Regionalliga Südwest! In the away game at SV Eintracht Trier, our U15 won 2-0. It took our boys a few minutes to find their way into the game. The uncertainty after three defeats was initially noticeable in the team, but after ten minutes it got better. Trier tried to narrow the spaces in the game, was vicious in the duels and made it difficult for our boys to shape the game forward. Nevertheless, our team took the lead in the 23rd minute. After a through pass to the top, Tim Schunck ran through, stayed cool in the direct duel with the Trier goalkeeper and scored the 1-0. Meanwhile, the host was more dangerous with standards, but couldn't use any. After the narrow lead at the break, our U15 came into the game much better than Trier after the break and now finally had control of the game. There were some clear chances, including by Tim Mosemann and Lorenz Segner, but they failed because of the Trier goalkeeper. Finally, in the 62nd minute, it was Tim Schunck again who opened the lid with his goal. With a good counterattack, he appeared again free in front of the keeper and increased to 2-0. "All in all, a well-deserved victory that the boys achieved with a good attitude and good fight," said coach Sebastian Schummer.
With the self-confidence, it goes on this Wednesday, September 30th, with the next league home game and Saar derby against 1. FC Saarbrücken. The game on the artificial turf at the Kaiserlinde will kick off at 18.30 p.m. The next weekend it will then continue on Sunday, October 04th, from 15.00 p.m. against the SF Eisbachtal.
