The FrauenElv won their first competitive game in the new year. The team of coach Kai Klankert prevailed in the catch-up game of the Regionalliga Südwest on the home course in Göttelborn against SC Siegelbach with 2: 0 (2: 0).
A week before the top game against leaders 1. FFC Niederkirchen (March 1, 14 p.m., in Göttelborn), FrauenElv, currently second in the table, reduced the gap to seven points.
Against Siegelbach there was still sand in the gear after the long break. Nevertheless, the team determined the action and deservedly took the lead in the 32nd minute. In their first game for their new club, Luxembourg international Anouchka Besch, who had come from SC Bettembourg during the winter break, scored 1-0. Shortly before the break, Janna Herzog increased to 2: 0 (45th). After the break, the FrauenElv dominated the game, but didn't take the best chances to make the undisputed victory higher. Besch gave a free-standing foot, Lena Wind after a free kick by Sarah Franz free-standing by the head and Duke only hit the crossbar in another scene.
Now all focus is on the second leg against Niederkirchen. The FrauenElv had lost the first leg in the Palatinate with 1: 2.
