SV 07 Elversberg starts the last part of their concept in girls' and women's football - cooperation with the community school Neue Sandrennbahn in Homburg-Erbach as the starting signal
With the signing of the cooperation agreement with the community school Neue Sandrennbahn in Homburg-Erbach, SV 07 Elversberg started the implementation of the last building block in its girls and women soccer concept. While the active area with the first and second FrauenElv and the youth with the MädchenElv starting for the 2019/2020 season are being built under clearly performance-oriented aspects, the SVE takes a different, no less important approach. "We want to help strengthen girl football in Saarland in general," says Selina Wagner, the deputy head of department. The background to this has been the falling team and player numbers in the Saarland Football Association for years.
The SVE forms partnerships with schools and clubs to strengthen girls' football at the grassroots level. "We will support campaigns and events in order to get girls excited about sports, especially football - so that the girls can join a club in the best of cases close to home or school," explains department head Kai Klankert.
The cooperation with the community school Neue Sandrennbahn in Homburg-Erbach is the first of its kind, with more to follow. Headmistress Sabine Bleyer is enthusiastic about SVE's commitment: “With its desire to promote girls' football, SV Elversberg is a perfect fit for us and our mission statement. We live the principle of a sport-oriented school, in which diverse physical activity offers, in addition to school potential, also aim to develop sporting talents. ”Since December 2018, the community school Neue Sandrennbahn has been awarded the seal of approval“ SportBewegte Schule Saar ”, which is the movement-oriented and health-promoting profile of the school underlines.
Schule and SV Elversberg have already made an initial appointment when signing the contract, which also included the active players Aliya Diagne, Celine Wagner and Elisa Skrotzki. At the traditional school swimming pool day, this year on June 23 in the outdoor pool in Kirkel-Limbach, the SVE women will be involved in the beach soccer tournament. "This will definitely be a highlight for our students, and we are already looking forward to that," says school principal Bleyer.
