The 2019/2020 season in the Regionalliga Südwest will end on June 30. The Regionalliga Südwest GbR announced this via email last night. The game commission and the general assembly of the Regionalliga Südwest GbR dealt with various scoring scenarios for the 2019/2020 season as part of a video conference and then decided to determine the direct promoted player based on the quotient rule for previous games.
Accordingly, 1. FC Saarbrücken is promoted to the 3rd division. There will be no relegations from the regional league to the upper division. Four teams rise from the top leagues to the Regionalliga Südwest, this was also determined according to the quotient rule. In the coming season, Eintracht Stadtallendorf (Hessenliga), TSV Schott Mainz (Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz / Saar), VfB Stuttgart II (Oberliga Baden-Württemberg) and KSV Hessen Kassel (Hessenliga / best runner-up) will complement the Southwest relay.
Season starts at the earliest from September
Regarding the upcoming 2020/2021 season, the Regionalliga Südwest GbR has announced that the new season will start on September 01st at the earliest. In the coming weeks, the game committee will advise on the implementation of the league in the 2020/2021 season with a strength of probably 22 teams (according to the current status with promoters and without relegations 21 teams plus relegations from the 3rd league) and will develop various models ( based on the dispositions of the federal states / the federal government and the associated forecasted start of the season) to be submitted to the clubs for discussion.
