After the new decisions on the nationwide “Lockdown Light”, games in the amateur leagues will definitely be suspended from next Monday, November 02nd. It is therefore clear that almost all SVE teams have to take a break from playing and training. Whether this also applies to the professionals in the Regionalliga Südwest is still open.
As the Regionalliga Südwest GbR announced today, the upcoming 12th matchday can be carried out in compliance with the official requirements. Means: Our Elv will play against VfR Aalen on Saturday, October 31st, as planned. Whether it can continue after that depends on the approval of the responsible and affected federal states in which the clubs of the Südwest-Staffel are based. They have to assess whether the game operations in the Regionalliga Südwest fall under professional or amateur sport. Professional sports events can continue to take place without spectators, amateur sports are prohibited in all public and private sports facilities from Monday.
The Regionalliga Südwest GbR will inform again this Saturday, October 31st, about the then current status and the feedback from the federal states. If no response has been received from all federal states by then, the 13th matchday (Wednesday, November 04th, at home against 1. FSV Mainz 05 II) will be postponed due to the planning security.
