Strack-Zimmermann wants to expand the KSK reform plan

The measures announced by Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer (CDU) for the "Special Forces Command" do not go far enough for FDP defense spokeswoman Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann.

“However, the individual measures are not the big hit. The big step would have been to pool the special forces of the Army, Navy and Air Force and report them directly to the Ministry of Defense, ”she told the T-Online news portal.

Nevertheless, the FDP politician also praised the Minister of Defense: “The individual steps make sense, for example that a regular overall inventory of the material and ammunition should now take place. However, I am speechless that this has not yet happened. ” Regarding the lack of consequences so far, despite extreme right-wing ideas at the KSK, she explained: “Leadership always bears responsibility. Apparently there were men there for years who did not take these activities seriously or even promoted them. ” Strack-Zimmermann said about the lack of consequences for the KSK so far, that Defense Minister Kramp-Karrenbauer "took over this heavy package from her predecessors and her predecessor von der Leyen". And added: “The minister must now end this sloppiness. There will probably be a few more things coming to light. ” It had to act now and now, after the right measures had been initiated, "naturally also under probation", because the signal had to be: "We do not tolerate right-wing extremism in the Bundeswehr."
