Kaiserslautern (ots) - On Monday afternoon, an attentive shop visitor observed a man in a shop on Zollamtstrasse during a theft.

The accused put a bottle of vodka in his waistband and wanted to leave the shop without paying. The 41-year-old witness held the man until the police arrived.

A carpet knife was found during the search of the accused. Since the identity of the man could not be established on the spot, the officers took him to the office.

A breath alcohol test showed a value of 2,38 per thousand. After his personal details had been determined and recorded, he was able to walk again. He is now being investigated for theft. | elz
