Our 2nd team had to travel to the away game on the Kieselhumes on the 6th matchday of the Landesliga Süd. The second set of SV Saar 05 Saarbrücken is a direct competitor in the fight for relegation and table neighbors of the "Zwädd". In this respect, a win for the team of coach Manuel Dillenburger was a must.
The motivation to get the first three was noticeable from the first minute. But the hosts had the first chance of the game after an unsuccessful defense attempt. But they put the shot over the gate. The home side tried to disrupt the Wambe early on with their very young and strong squad. However, there were no other opportunities. The "Zwädd", on the other hand, could not capitalize on the uncertain build-up game of the home team. Until the 41st minute. After winning the ball, Jonas Fernsner was able to run towards the goal on his own and make it 0: 1. This was also the half-time result.
Five minutes after the restart, the "Zwädd" was able to add the 0: 2. Samuel Ikas dusted off after a blocked ball. As a result, the host tried a lot, but the Wambe were secure behind. Manuel Niebergall had the big chenace to make everything clear after 74 minutes, but forgave free standing in front of the goal. After a defensive mistake, Saar 05 scored the 1: 2 connection goal in stoppage time. Then the game was over.
A deserved and important victory for the "Zwädd", which ultimately turns out to be too close. Above all, the defense convinced today. Switching to a chain of three had paid off. Today Samuel Ikas should be highlighted, who played a strong game after a long injury break and who will certainly soon be able to prove his skills again with our 1st team. FV Püttlingen will be visiting the Franzenhaus next Saturday. We are tied with the Püttlingers, so this will again be an extremely important game for us.
