Munich (ots) - Refueling is again significantly more expensive. According to the current evaluation of the ADAC, a liter of Super E10 costs 1,227 euros on average, which is 3,6 cents more than in the previous week. This makes gasoline as expensive as it was last at the end of March. Diesel prices also rose. A liter currently costs an average of EUR 1,081, which is an increase of 2,4 cents compared to the previous week. The difference between the two varieties increased to 14,6 cents.
The main reasons for the rising prices are the increasing loosening of the corona restrictions, which lead to higher fuel demand and the rising prices on the crude oil market. A barrel of the Brent variety currently costs a good $ 40, which is almost twice as much as at the end of April. This increase is only insufficiently offset by the somewhat firmer euro against the dollar.
The ADAC recommends that drivers compare prices before refueling. Anyone who uses the sometimes considerable price differences between different petrol stations and times of the day saves money and also strengthens the competition between the providers. According to a current evaluation of the ADAC, the best way to fill up is between 18 p.m. and 22 p.m. The smartphone app “ADAC Spritpreise” offers uncomplicated and quick help.
