Munich (ots) - A slight increase in fuel prices is noticeable at the petrol pumps. The ADAC calculates a nationwide average for a liter of Super E10 at 1,247 euros. This corresponds to an increase of 1,2 cents compared to the previous week. The price for a liter of diesel also rises by 0,2 cents in a weekly comparison and costs 1,043 euros on a national average.
The price difference between the two fuels increases again and rises to 20,4 cents. This is the first time in a long time that it has climbed above the 20-cent mark.
Crude oil prices, which have a major influence on the development of fuel prices, moved only slightly. A barrel of the Brent variety currently costs around 42 euros. In addition to the price of crude oil, the dollar exchange rate also plays an important role. At the moment, one euro is around $ 1,17, one cent lower than the previous week.
The ADAC generally recommends that drivers compare fuel prices before refueling. Those who take advantage of the sometimes considerable price differences between different petrol stations and times of day save money. According to the club, refueling is usually cheapest between 18pm and 22pm. The smartphone app "ADAC Spritpreise" offers uncomplicated and quick help.
