Bingen (ots) - Bingen a. Rhine, August 23.08rd, Salzstrasse, 15:31 pm-15:45pm. A 78-year-old withdrew a larger amount of money in a branch of the Sparda bank on Sunday. An English-speaking man engaged him in a conversation during the process, but the pensioner broke it off. He then pushed the debit card into the bank statement printer next door, whereupon the device reported an error and withheld the card. The bank couldn't be reached by phone, so he left the counter. On Monday morning he found out that the EC card was no longer in the printer and that a large amount of money had been withdrawn the day before using the card and the correct PIN number. The perpetrator had clearly spied out the PIN entered when withdrawing money. He is described as follows: dark skin color, 180-190 cm tall, strong, baseball cap, white sneakers, white headphones. The police asked for further information about the perpetrator.
Please be careful when withdrawing money from the machine. Do not be distracted and demand a reasonable distance from the person behind you!
