Saarbrücken (ots) - 600 grams of amphetamine and 80 grams of marijuana were secured by customs officers on Autobahn 8 last week.
Three people between the ages of 19 and 40 traveled on January 20.01. arrived at 13.00 in a car from Luxembourg to Germany and were checked near the border. The travelers from different European countries indicated that they wanted to celebrate with friends in Germany. Because they were remarkably nervous, the customs officers took a closer look.
And successfully: When the vehicle was searched, a mason jar with almost 600 grams of amphetamine was found in the spare wheel well. In addition, around 80 grams of marijuana were discovered during the control.
Criminal proceedings were initiated against the three vehicle occupants on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Act, after which they were provisionally arrested. The amphetamine and marijuana were seized.
The further investigation was carried out by the customs investigation office in Frankfurt am Main - Kaiserslautern office. The criminal proceedings are pending at the Saarbrücken public prosecutor's office.
