Despite corona tests and quarantine, city dwellers from risk areas such as Berlin or Cologne continue to vacation in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

“People come anyway and then get tested,” said Rostock's Mayor Claus Ruhe Madsen to “Tagesspiegel am Sonntag”. Test capacities are running out in the city of 200.000.

"In our clinic, the test capacities are almost completely used up by the vacationers," said the Dane, who is the only foreign mayor of a major German city. “At the weekend, our clinic actually only tests for three hours, the other day it was six, and that was still not enough,” says Madsen.
