As announced yesterday, the regional association and the state capital have jointly tightened measures due to increasing Sars-Cov-2 infections. Private celebrations and the serving of alcohol are limited.

The rulings state that the number of guests at private celebrations is limited to 25 in public spaces and 15 in private spaces. The representatives of the federal and state governments agreed on these values on Wednesday.

Furthermore, the serving and dispensing of alcoholic beverages in restaurants, pubs, taverns and eateries, bars, canteens, hotel restaurants and bars, ice cream parlors and ice cream parlors is prohibited between midnight and 0 a.m. This also applies to other sales outlets, especially petrol stations and kiosks.

Regional association director Peter Gillo and Saarbrücken's mayor Uwe Conradt jointly appeal to the citizens of the regional association to consistently observe the existing distance and hygiene rules: "The Corona train has picked up speed rapidly and it is important to brake it now. But that is only possible if everyone participates and helps to break the chains of infection".

Further measures if the number of infections increases

If the Sars-Cov-2 infection numbers in the coming days rise above 50 new infections per 100.000 inhabitants within seven days in the regional association, the measures would be tightened and supplemented again.

The new decree will come into force on Saturday, October 17, 2020, from midnight and is available to all citizens on the websites of the regional association and the state capital of Saarbrücken: Link to general decree
