Mentally ill man threatens with a cutter

Saarbrücken-Burbach / Malstatt (ots) - This Tuesday afternoon, a passer-by reported to the Saarbrücken-Burbach police station and announced that she had been "scurried" for a cigarette by an unknown, psychologically conspicuous man near the Malstatter market . When she replied that she had no cigarettes, the man pulled out a cutter, seemed to be upset and unequivocally announced crimes against other people. He then went away so that the terrified woman could call the police. Immediately afterwards another call came in, in which another passer-by reported a man running in the direction of the Malstatter Bridge, screaming and waving a carpet knife around. As a result, the hitherto unknown person was quickly identified by the Saarbrücken-Burbach police station, disarmed and taken into custody before anything worse could happen. Shortly afterwards, a doctor called in found that the 52-year-old posed a significant risk to other people due to an acute mental illness and the resulting behavior. That is why he was admitted to a psychiatric clinic and taken to it immediately.
