Saarbrücken (ots) - From February 18 to 20, 2021 there will be access restrictions at the Saarbrücken customs office at the main freight station. Due to the construction work on Dudweiler Landstrasse, an asphalt surface in front of the customs office has to be renewed. Access to the customs office is therefore temporarily not possible for cars and trucks.

The city of Saarbrücken temporarily enables the trucks to be processed in the long-distance bus parking lot at the intersection of Dudweiler Landstrasse / Meerwiesertalweg. A corresponding diversion will be signposted on site. In order to drive into the parking lot, a parking ticket must be drawn, which is exchanged as part of the customs treatment so that the exit remains free.

The Saarbrücken customs office is within walking distance. Postal parcels can still be picked up. There is also the option of using the parking lot at the intersection of Dudweiler Landstrasse / Meerwiesertalweg free of charge for private cars.

"Due to the current construction situation around the main freight station, we advise citizens, if there is the possibility, to complete their customs formalities in week 8", says Hans Barth, head of the main customs office in Saarbrücken.

From February 22.02nd Unrestricted access to the Saarbrücken customs office should be possible again.
