Büchenbeuren (ots) - The food bank in Kirn was happy about a surprising food donation from the police college. Due to the current pandemic, the educational institution at the Hahn Police Campus has currently discontinued the requirement for students to be present at the Hahn. The police service bachelor's degree is currently offered in digital form and the cafeteria has been closed until further notice. What to do with products that are about to reach their best-before date? “It is important for us to do something good in the current crisis. It is therefore a matter of course for us to use foods such as cheese, yogurt, whole eggs, butter, cream cheese and many more. Donate to the charitable aid organization Tafel Kirn eV before the best-before date has expired, ”explains the director of the Police College, Friedel Durben. The association "Tafel Kirn eV" has set itself the goal of giving food that has been given to the aid organization free of charge to people in need. The aid organization is supported by numerous voluntary helpers who distribute donated food to around 340 families in Kirn and Bad Sobernheim. The chairwoman, Ellen Kriegel, is delighted to thank the Police College for supporting the initiative "Save food - help people".
