Weiskirchen (ots) - Last Friday, June 05.06th around 23:06 p.m., a police vehicle in Wadern wanted to check a motorcycle on Trier Street in Weiskirchen, which was on the road without lights. The motorcycle was occupied by two people. The passenger was probably a woman because the long hair was visible under the helmet. When the patrol car was recognized, the motorcycle turned and fled towards the center of Weiskirchen. Despite the blue lights and Martinshorn being on, the bike did not stop. The driver of the bike continued his journey towards the “Jakobustreppe”. There the visual contact broke off, because this location is not accessible for the patrol vehicle. Due to the spatial distance to the escaping motorcycle, only police license plate fragments could be recognized by the police officers. Subsequent police investigations revealed that the motorcycle was a blue Yamaha with a 125cc displacement. After intensive police investigations, both the escaped driver of the motorcycle and the pillion could be determined. It is a 19-year-old from Weiskirchen-Thailen who is known to the police and does not have a required driver's license.
He now faces criminal charges for suspected license plate abuse and driving without a license.
