Assault on a police officer in Nonnweiler: A 42-year-old man rioted in his apartment, was under the influence of alcohol and drugs and tried to escape from the officers. When this fails, he grabs a piece of broken glass and attacks the police.

Nonnweiler (ots) - In the afternoon of June 29.6.2020, 42, the North Saarland Police Inspectorate was informed of a riot in a multi-party house in Nonnweiler, who had rioted in his own apartment and wanted to penetrate other apartments in the house. He threatened and insulted the other residents. When the police arrived, the man under the influence of alcohol and drugs was extremely aggressive and wanted to take refuge in his apartment. When this failed, he took a 30 cm piece of broken glass from the previously smashed door and went to an officer. This attack could be stopped by the officials and the man was overwhelmed and fixed. Because of his condition, he had to be hospitalized. Numerous weapons, knives and ammunition were found in the apartment. The objects were sighted and secured with the support of the ordnance disposal service. An official was slightly injured during the operation.
