On the 15th matchday of the Landesliga Süd, our second team had to play at SV Saar 05 Saarbrücken II. The hosts had drawn attention to themselves in recent weeks with good results against top teams and the coaches Woll and Eiler warned of the opponent. In particular, since the team was very weak in terms of replacement and a few players from the second row got their chance.
Felix Stuppy headed the first chance of the game after two minutes after a corner kick, but put the ball just over it. A free kick by Manuel Dillenburger missed the target after 14 minutes. After that, a struggle-focused game developed between the two penalty areas. Saar 05 II had more possession, but without getting dangerously in front of the goal. The "Zwädd" defended well and had a standard situation again after 38 minutes. Felix Stuppy was able to extend a free kick from the half field with his head into the goal to 0: 1. So it went into the cabins.
Poor opportunities continued in the second half, but both teams fought for every inch. The forces at the "Zwädd" dwindled and so the host came after 80 minutes with a long-range shot from 20 meters to his first goal chance in the game, which led to the 1-1. Due to the exhausting gameplay, the Wambe only wanted to save the draw over time. In the 85th minute Manuel Dillenburger conquered the ball in the opponent's half and ran towards the goal alone. He kept his nerve and finished 1: 2. Until the end, you threw yourself into each ball and so it remained with the victory for the "Zwädd".
An important victory in view of the table. So you could distance the hosts to six points. However, the table can be deceptive because the distance to the first relegation zone is only seven points and in football it can sometimes be very fast. That is why it is important to expand the unbeaten series by the end of the year. The next difficult task awaits next weekend with the away game in Großrosseln on the hard court.
