RKI reports 18034 new corona infections - the incidence drops to 132,8

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) provisionally reported 18.034 new corona infections early Wednesday morning.


That was 18,9 percent or 4.197 cases fewer than on Wednesday morning a week ago. According to the RKI, the incidence fell from yesterday's 141,4 to 132,8 new cases per 100.000 inhabitants within the last seven days.

Overall, according to the preliminary figures, the institute currently assumes around 283.000 active corona cases with evidence, which is around 13.300 fewer than a week ago. In addition, the RKI now reported 285 deaths within 24 hours in connection with the virus. Within the last seven days there were 1.596 deaths, corresponding to an average of 228 deaths per day (previous day: 232). This increased the number of deaths to 24 within 83.876 hours. So far, a total of 3,45 million people in Germany have tested positive for the corona virus.

Since these are preliminary figures for today, these could be corrected later by the RKI.
