Alzey (ots) - There was a garbage can fire on Thursday evening, around 23:40 p.m., in Löwengasse in Alzey. At around 23:40 p.m., a local resident noticed the fire in a garbage can and alarmed the police. By the time the officers arrived at the scene of the fire, the fire had spread to three parked vehicles. The fire was extinguished by FW Alzey. The three vehicles suffered total economic damage. In addition, the exterior facade of a residential house was damaged due to the development of heat. Property damage of several tens of thousands of euros was incurred. Another garbage can fire was reported at 00:52 in the Theodor-Heuss-Ring in Alzey that same night. This fire could be extinguished by local residents. Since it cannot be ruled out that the garbage cans have been deliberately set on fire, the criminal police in Alzey is investigating and asks whistleblowers to register at 06731 / 911-100.
