Saarbrücken (ots) - On Monday morning, a 30-year-old Saarbrücken woman is attacked with a knife at Tbilisser Platz. She previously refused to give money to a begging man.
An unknown man begs the woman around 08:30 a.m. at the city ditch and asks her for money. The victim rejects this and continues towards Tbilisser Platz when she notices her persecutor. The perpetrator approaches the woman and suddenly stabs her in the stomach with a knife. Then he escapes on foot towards Saarleinpfad. The injured woman goes home a kilometer on foot, where she collapses and her brother informs the police. She suffers a stab wound in the belly and is cared for in the Protestant city hospital. There is no danger to life.
The police could no longer identify the perpetrator during the extensive search. He is described as a male, about 40 years old, with brown, shoulder-length hair, a dark beard and as a foreign phenotype. The man is said to be wearing a gray jacket, blue jeans, dark baseball cap and a black scarf with colorful dots, as well as carrying a black backpack.
The police are investigating and asking witnesses of the incident to report to the Saarbrücken City Police Inspectorate on 0681 / 9321-233.
