North Rhine-Westphalia Prime Minister Armin Laschet (CDU) wants to sound out relief for the corona requirements for lower-class football clubs and various other disciplines at a "sports summit".

This Friday, at the invitation of the head of government, more than a dozen representatives from various sports will meet in Düsseldorf, reports the “Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung” (Friday edition). "Before we decide on spectators for the Bundesliga, we need a clear signal for popular sport," Laschet told WAZ. Many amateur clubs have come under financial pressure.

“The many volunteers deserve recognition for their important work and a clear perspective for club life - through financial aid and a suitable legal framework for operations with spectators. We will take care of that, ”announced the CDU politician. Currently, NRW clubs are only allowed to play in front of 300 spectators.
