Ifo Institute sees positive economic development

According to the Munich Ifo Institute for Economic Research, the German economy will develop better this year than previously thought.

This is what the “Spiegel” reports in its current edition. Just a few weeks ago, the institute predicted that economic output in 2020 would collapse by around 6,7 percent.

Now Ifo economic chief Timo Wollmershäuser expects only a decrease of 5,1 percent. The reason is the “surprisingly positive development” of the past few weeks, says Wollmershäuser in “Spiegel”. The Ifo Institute recently reported on a significantly improved business climate and increasing export expectations among German companies.
