Green parliamentary group leader Katrin Göring-Eckardt has asked the federal government to prepare Corona aid for several lockdown months.

“We already need regulations that go beyond November. Otherwise we are facing more months of chaos with the aid, ”she told the newspapers of the Funke media group (Monday editions).

Göring-Eckardt referred to Minister of Economic Affairs Peter Altmaier (CDU), who had spoken at the weekend of significant restrictions in the next four to five months. This Monday, Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) and the Prime Ministers want to discuss how things should continue after the November lockdown. The Green politician called it “an imposition” that the November aid would arrive “very late” for those affected. Artists, organizers and other solo self-employed have received next to no support for eight months. "And now they are being referred to Hartz IV plus 25 percent of their sales," she criticized. "This is not about people who have done poorly or have become unemployed." Göring-Eckard called on Finance Minister Olaf Scholz (SPD) to "finally give up his resistance to real entrepreneurial wages" and the situation of the solo self-employed for to improve the entire time of the corona pandemic. In addition, the parliamentary group leader called for "an update" for the Corona warning app. "It has to become more attractive to use it and it has to support the work of the health authorities effectively," said Göring-Eckardt. The app must develop into a corona information portal and support the detection of infection clusters. "With so many millions, one can expect more development to happen," said the Green politician: "Many private initiatives are showing how to do it without a budget."
