A reduction in VAT has two levels, said Ryglewski on Monday in the RBB Inforadio. One is that it benefits people who have little money and the other is that it boosts the economy "by getting people to spend money now."
The SPD politician cited as an example a car purchase or the renovation of the house, which could possibly be postponed due to the unsafe situation. "We don't have anything," said Ryglewski. "We want people to do this now because we are now in a phase where there is a (...) consumer crisis and where we have to help to get the economy going again."
