As the newspapers of the Funke media group report (Monday editions), 594 federal police officers have been proven to have been infected with Corona since the beginning of the pandemic, proportionally slightly more than in the total population. 1.857 employees are currently in quarantine.
The corona tests were positive in 261 cases. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 54 percent of the cases of infection have been related to private life and 46 percent to a business background. According to the authorities, the development is subject to change. Business-related cases predominated at times.
It was only in mid-October that the President of the Federal Police, Dieter Romann, called on his employees to better protect themselves from infection. “If we fail, the lights will go out,” he had warned at the time.
