The Nikolauspostamt in St. Nikolaus has ended this year's children's letter campaign. An evaluation showed that 24.146 children's letters were received in the small town - and answered. Letters were received from a total of 42 countries worldwide.
The Nikolauspostamt in St. Nikolaus sets a new record (+ 6,9%) and proves that the "Nikolaus" is respected in all areas of the world. This also meant a lot of work for the 35 volunteers.
Looking at the letters from abroad it can be said that they come from 26 European, 9 Asian, 4 American, 2 Australian and one African country.
The majority, 1469 of the foreign children's letters came from Taiwan again this year, followed by France with 546 letters and Russia with 357.
This year, the Southeast Asian state of Myanmar was added as a new country.
The response letters abroad have been translated into English, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Polish and Chinese this year.
Proceeds from the Nicholas Post Office were donated
The proceeds from the Nikolaus post office from last year were donated to the seven following aid organizations at a ceremonial donation handover on December 14.12.2018, 1000, each for XNUMX euros.
