Enkenbach-Alsenborn (Kaiserslautern district) (ots) - A woman from Enkenbach-Alsenborn received an extortionate email on Tuesday. The sender tried to make the lady believe that her computer had been hacked and that she was filmed via webcam while visiting websites with pornographic content. To prevent the allegedly produced video from being published, the woman was supposed to pay several hundred euros in bitcoins.

The recipient of the e-mail was not only sure that she had not visited such websites, she also recognized the scam and immediately switched the police on. The investigation into the mail sender is ongoing. | cri
