Bad Kreuznach (ots) - On September 16.09.2020, 14, between 00 p.m. and 17 p.m., there were numerous accidents in the service area of the Bad Kreuznach police station, including injuries.
Among other things, around 14:30 p.m., a 53-year-old and a 61-year-old driver drove their vehicles on the B41 from Bad Kreuznach in the direction of the A 61. Shortly before the tunnel near Ippesheim, the 53-year-old driver tried the 61-year-old's vehicle overtaking in the right lane. He touches the 61-year-old's vehicle on the right side of the vehicle. The 53-year-old then skidded with his vehicle, rolled over and then came to a stop on the roof. Several witnesses in the accident confirm that the 53-year-old's vehicle was running too fast and that several risky overtaking maneuvers were made before the accident. Both vehicles were totaled. According to initial estimates, the property damage amounts to 30.000 euros. The two drivers involved in the accident are slightly injured and taken to the surrounding hospitals. The two female passengers of the respective vehicle remain uninjured. The road had to be completely closed for about two and a half hours. The fire brigade and rescue service were also on site. Investigations into traffic hazards were initiated against the person who caused the accident. The confiscation of the driver's license was ordered by the public prosecutor's office in Bad Kreuznach. No evidence of impairment of the ability to drive could be found for either driver. Any witnesses are asked to report to the Bad Kreuznach police station.
Almost at the same time there was a rear-end collision on the B 41 in the same direction of travel not far from this accident site.
