Alzey (ots) - A serious traffic accident occurred on Wednesday at 11:20 a.m. in the parking lot of the Rheinhessen-Center in Alzey. An 88-year-old man was there with his e-scooter on a pedestrian crossing. A truck driver recognized the scooter driver, who came out from behind a screen, too late. There was a collision. The scooter driver, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered severe traumatic brain injury as a result of the accident. He was taken to a hospital by the ambulance service after first aid. There is currently mortal danger. The truck driver was uninjured. By order of the Mainz public prosecutor's office, an expert was called in to clarify the cause of the accident.
