Kaiserslautern (ots) - Con artists unfortunately managed to trick a woman from the city area. As the senior reported to the police on Thursday, she had an uninvited visitor on Monday. At around 15 p.m., an unknown woman rang the doorbell of the 86-year-old and asked for a pen. When the helpful lady went to her kitchen to get the pen, the strange woman suddenly stood behind her. She involved the elderly woman in a long conversation and only left the apartment after about 20 minutes.
What the 86-year-old was not aware of at that moment: Her apartment door was open at this time, and because she was in the kitchen with the stranger, she could not see the door.
At first the woman did not notice anything unusual. It wasn't until the next day that she missed a bunch of keys that usually hung in the entrance area. And later the lady discovered that someone had tampered with a locked cupboard. The cash the elderly woman had kept in it was gone.
It can be assumed that the strange woman intentionally distracted the 86-year-old, and during this time an accomplice could sneak through the open door into the apartment and steal the money.
The stranger who asked about the pen had the following description: about 50 to 60 years old, strong stature, moon face, light blonde, medium-length, slightly wavy hair, fashionably dressed, wore a white vest and spoke broken German with probably Polish Accent.
Witnesses who may also have had such an "uninvited visit" or who noticed the woman described in the city area are asked to contact the criminal police on 0631/369 - 2620. | cri
