The German Football Association (DFB) and the marketing company Infront are ending their cooperation and have reached a settlement.

That was announced on Friday. Infront regrets that the DFB has given the impression of unfair business practices, the joint statement said.

The current business relationships were "terminated by mutual agreement and the resulting financial obligations were settled". The DFB wants to market the DFB Cup itself with immediate effect. If the DFB decides at a later point in time to put the marketing out to tender again, this tender is also open to Infront. The football association and the marketing company had worked together for almost 40 years. The "Spiegel" had recently written about alleged nepotism in the award of contracts, Infront had denied this and had taken legal action against the magazine because of the reporting.
