DAX starts strongly - Wirecard gains over 150 percent

The DAX started the new week with profits.

At the Xetra close of trading, the index was calculated at 12.232,12 points, an increase of 1,18 percent compared to Friday's close. Shares in the now insolvent Wirecard once again made the headlines and were up over 150 percent shortly before the end of trading after having lost over 98 percent in value in the past few days.

The board had announced at the weekend that it wanted to continue doing business - "in the best interest of the creditors," as it was said. The business operations of the group companies are also currently being continued. Among the remaining shares, Deutsche Bank, Covestro and BASF stocks were ahead on Monday, all of which gained over three percent shortly before the end of trading. The European single currency was somewhat stronger on Monday afternoon. One euro cost $ 1,1241 (+0,17 percent).
