After Berlin got off to a good start, Stuttgart pulled their teeth early on. After a cross from Coulibaly, Stuttgart's Kalajdzic headed the post (8th minute). Only a minute later it was Kempf who placed the Didavi free kick into the corner: 1-0 for the promoted team.
Stuttgart played gallantly and bitingly, while Hertha BSC Berlin acted rather harmlessly.
After the break, Stuttgart continued to play mainly attacking football. From the 55th minute onwards, however, it was Hertha who took control and demanded more from Stuttgart. Thanks to goalkeeper Kobel, however, the Stuttgart leadership remained.
In the end, it was a will of the veteran Gonzalo Castro, who made it 68-2 in the 0th minute: In the middle of the Berlin urge phase, Castro won the ball in midfield and stormed towards the goal. After double passes with Kalajdzic and Klimowicz, he thrashed the ball into the mesh from a good 20 meters.
This single action pulled the Hertha tooth. Stuttgart could then play the game to the end with confidence.
