Federal police stop smuggling refrigerated trucks

Saarland (ots) - Around 7:00 am today, officers of the Federal Police Inspection Bexbach were informed by the driver of a Polish refrigerated truck about knocking noises from his trailer. With several strips, an ambulance and an emergency doctor, the officers reached the truck that was on the Autobahn 6 at the Homburg motorway service area. The trailer was opened on site and a slightly hypothermic Iranian was found. In the course of the initial investigations, it turned out that the truck with vegetables from Spain was traveling towards Poland. In Dijon, according to the 20-year-old smuggled Iranian, he and his colleague were undetected, but had climbed to England with the help of a smuggler and target. During a police check in France, however, his traveling companion was discovered and arrested. The second trip ended in Saarland at my own request. In order to be able to rule out that there are other people on the truck, for safety reasons it was completely unloaded by a specialist company at the rest area and searched by the federal police with a negative result. The investigation is still ongoing.
