The Bundesliga opener in Munich on Friday evening will take place without a spectator.

The reason for this is the increasing number of corona infections in the Bavarian capital, Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter announced on Thursday. He said it would be the "wrong signal" to let spectators into the sports stadiums.

The Robert Koch Institute currently indicates a seven-day incidence of 47,6 per 100.000 inhabitants for Munich. Finally, it was said that 7.500 fans should be allowed in the opening game of FC Bayern Munich against Schalke 04. This corresponds to around ten percent of the stadium's capacity.
