The IG-Metall members approved the agreement on location and job security with a large majority.
According to IG Metall, trainees continue to have a takeover claim after successful training, and the location and employees are to be offered prospects by locating future products and investments.
Ralf Reinstädtler, 1st authorized representative of IG Metall Homburg-Saarpfalz, explains: "The employees at the Homburger location more than deserve these commitments. Bosch employees are committed and well qualified. They have repeatedly demonstrated in the past that they have mastered technical innovations and can lead to profitable industrial production. It is thanks to the tenacity of the works council that the employees finally have clarity and that consistent and overdue future decisions have been made. In economically uncertain times, a result that ensures more planning and security."
Employees have to accept losses
Nevertheless, financial concessions remain from the employees, which are quite painful. "These relate to a reduction in wages over the five-year period due to shorter working hours and a temporary reduction in a company allowance," said IG-Metall in its statement.
Operational layoffs are excluded.
Around 2/3 of the IG Metall members took part in the vote. 90 percent of them voted "yes".
